Taj Mahal

Monument was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is believed that the night view of the Taj Mahal comes alive in all its grandeur on full moon nights.

Red Fort

The Red Fort is the second most popular place in Agra after the Taj Mahal. You can also catch a glimpse of the Taj Mahal from the Red Fort. This red sandstone oozes power and show. The fort is surrounded by seventy feet high walls on all three sides.

Inner side of the fort has high walls 40 feet deep. The fort is open from sunrise to sunset and entry is free on every Friday. You can enjoy a light and sound show in the fort in the evening which can be experienced here.

Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah

This place is called the Fleet Complex of the TajMahal. You can see the parallels in the tomb. The mausoleum is surrounded by beautiful gardens which make the place very picturesque. Itimad-ud-Daulah is also known by the nickname “Baby Taj Mahal“.

This two-storied structure, though small in size in comparison to other humble Mughal architectural marvels. There are also some features of this monument that are heavily influenced by Persian architecture.

Fatehpur Sikri

If you miss out on discovering the gem of a township, then any Agra trip is incomplete without visiting Fatehpur Sikri. The city is located about 6 km from central Agra and was built in 1569 on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.

During sunset and sunrise at Fatehpur Sikri, the Burj and the dome create shadows and silhouettes against the copper-red sky that is truly an awe-inspiring sight for a painter’s canvas or a visitor’s eye.
